Esalen Massage Ground Training- 2023

Highly qualified teachers from the European Institute of Esalen Massage are offer trainings in Esalen Massage leading to diploma recognition. This Massage training is designed to help participants become confident with the basic methods, concepts, ideas and philosophy of Esalen Massage. Gaining knowledge about their own bodies, as they touch others, participants will be shown different modalities of Esalen Massage: slow long strokes over the skin, deeper massage of the muscles and gentle rocking movements of the body, which helps to open and relax the joints of the entire body. Elements from various modalities of massage will be taught. These include: Esalen Massage, Swedish massage, Classical Massage, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Polarity, Chakra/ Qi Energy Balancing, Trager, Acupressure, Deep Massage, Stretching and Movement. This large assortment of massage components will be woven together creating a seamless style of massage. Participants will be encouraged to develop their own individual massage styles, while also cultivating their intuitive skills. Additional learning tools include: breathwork, communication exercises, guided imagery, dance and meditation.

Standing correctly at the massage table will be one of the primary focuses of the course, helping participants to give a quality massage, while at the same time feeling physically comfortable giving it. Demonstrations and hands on “learning-by-doing” will be the fundamental tools used to help those attending this course in becoming competent with this unique massage method.
This Esalen Massage training is created with everyone in mind, regardless of how much previous experience one has. Beginners will be supported in their initial massage encounter, as well as introducing a new quality of touch for those with more massage experience.

Throughout the years more elements from various areas of bodywork such as Trager, Feldenkrais, Cranio Sacral Therapy, Deep Tissue Massage, Polarity and Acupressure have been integrated into Esalen Massage and its philosophy.

To all those that are present, the various elements will offer a rich assortment of “tools” to massage with. The participants are also encouraged to develop their own massage style. One of the goals of this training is to give the participants a feeling for massaging and bodywork, and to encourage them to trust their own intuition.

This is a professional training yet previous knowledge in massage is not required. Participants will have to do an introduction workshop in Esalen Massage beforehand. For further information, conditions, and requirements please contact us.
